I wondered if integers +/-9, and remove one box next to the zero, meaning you can only put 9 digits along either as negative or positive.
I think if you can use +9 and -9, etc it may not have enough challenge??

Open middle maths problem with a numberline and boxes that represent digits used to fit given conditions. In this case, using digits 1-9 at most one time each. Digits become integers if placed below zero on the numberline. There are three single digit numbers then a fraction with a single digits numerator and a single digit denominator below zero. There's a single digit then a similar fraction and another single digit above zero. This image shows 3 possible solutions. I will often ask students 'which answer is most interesting to you and why'? Eg. What's the biggest gap we can produce, the smallest gap?

You may not know but locals in NZ say stuff like "You can't beat Wellington on a good day". Hence, this day was gold. Not only did we get to enjoy the beautiful sunny clear summers day, my 19yo son and 17yo daughter were out and about with me. This photo is one view from the top of Mount Victoria (Matairangi). There are a few fluffy clouds along the distant horizon. The sea is calm and a gorgeous aqua blue. The hills near and far have lush green trees, increasingly regeneration of native species. Gorgeous 😍
