Introducing Ola, my office partner. She often sleeps on the job - a bit of a slacker. And steals my chair. She likes to think that she lives at the school. She does not. She does however bring tons of joy to our teens.

He was easily the most beloved personage in town and this year finally got a photo on the faculty page
When they saw him enter our house, small children would gape, “Schoolcat lives with YOU?” as if they couldn’t fathom the honor bestowed on us

Alas. Deimos AKA Schoolcat AKA Oreo has passed, getting scritches on his dumb little head to the last. He made it to the end of the school year but must have known that they weren’t letting him back into the classroom next fall bc an entering student has allergies

Deimos—known to people in town as Schoolcat or Oreo—has diabetes. The vet asked if we were sure we wanted to take on the daily care, but honestly, if we didn’t, the teachers and children would burn our house down
We plan to sell them Oreo merch to defray the cost
