Very funny to me that they chose a famously uncarismatic antihero.

The funniest possible outcome of the 2028 election is that, after seeing the shitposting about Dark Brandon, Hillary Clinton will run again as her new antihero persona: Crooked Hillary. Somehow, this leads to her winning a landslide victory.

Huge thank you to Barnes and Noble for including ANTIHERO as one of their Best eBooks of 2026! Evan’s thrilled.

i also think The Balrog is a tragic antihero who was pushed to the brink by videogames having fewer bikini girls in them
man some people really took that Little Mermaid casting hard

I feel that, it was definitely disturbing seeing this kind of graphic gendered violence and then this ending. Had a kind of off Tarantino/Breaking Bad antihero flavour in that sense - maybe the irony doesn’t really justify it!

Anne Louise Avery's Reynard the Fox is a really lovely retelling of this classic anarchic antihero of medieval folklore.

I find it's a perfect autumn/winter read to curl up with when you want to escape the modern world for a bit, and the writing is *gorgeous*

Technically, the Balrogs are fallen Maiar, Tolkien's equivalent of angels. But there's no narrative arc to back up the idea that they were pushed too far. They got seduced by power and ran with it. In LOTR, the Balrog is basically just a big scary monster. Not every villain is an antihero.

I reckon a majority of people miss the point of films.

Especially any film with an antihero.
Did Elon ever see a science fiction movie he understood?

Uh...guys?

You know that the rest of us saw the movies too, right?

Right? Like, we know what happened and why.

Making an antihero(I guess) out of the most annoying idiot whiny douchebag you can think of maybe isn't the best way to look cool and badass, just saying.

Probably an essay in the Clone Wars show as part of the 2000s Antihero Boom & in its humazined take fleshing out Lucas' clear (if frustratingly executed) Tragic Downfall Arc making a Lovable Adult Anakin on an "I can fix him" trajectory, hitting exactly when real-life villain Palmer Luckey was 16.

Far right dimwits trying to turn one of the top 3 most annoying characters in cinema history into a badass antihero role model

Cheering for the antihero in a cautionary tale of fiction. Cool cool cool. There continues to be no bottom

Great, looking forward to reading it! I was unsure about how to properly name it, I guess «antihero drama» is more common, but it's leaving out the crucial gendered dimension

Reynard is such a good antihero to retell. Summoned to the lion's court for his crimes and he talks his way out every single time, and somehow you end up on his side.
