So powerful to be in Trafalgar Square at the vigil.

Rest in Power, Professor Jason Arday.

They drove Jason Arday to suicide over plagiarism and called for deporting and even denaturalizing pro Palestine protestors. Now they defend rapists.

The people who wrote the Arday story call themselves education journalists. Here's how much interest they took in associate professor Orr:

Arday officially doomed as Jolyon joins the fray.
Jason Arday is the youngest Black professor in Cambridge's history – and now rightwing newspapers are trying to smear him with untrue accusations of plagiarism.

Not on our watch. Add your name in solidarity with Jason here: https://goodlaw.social/jg0w

Jason Arday, "The challenge Keir Starmer is presented with, given what Labour inherited, is going to be hugely difficult"

"As a nation there needs to be patience around that"

Jason Arday is dead. The UK media won’t learn a thing from this. Because they’re racist bastards. He has two children.

Fuck The Atlantic. Jason Arday should still be here. Cowardly complicit ghouls.

Haunted by Arday story. In that state where you surprise yourself by how upset you are.

The Telegraph has deleted, without fanfare, the word ‘living’ from the headline of Stephen Daisley's article on Professor Arday.

Today, it just reads “Jason Arday is proof that you reap what you sow.”

AI detection software, made out of genAI by the same dipshits making genAI, is being targeted at Black writers so that an Arday can happen but with no human able to be held accountable.
France’s most prestigious literary prize has pulled a book from the longlist they think may have been written by AI. This is the start of what is going to become an authenticity nightmare for all concerned: authors, publishers, awards, readers

The story of Jason Arday is the story of James Orr.

Of the ideology which has found a foothold in Cambridge University, fostering the sorts of ideas that formed the undercurrents – sometimes explicit; sometimes unconscious – against Arday.

I returned to my alma mater for an in-depth exploration 👇

Has James Orr stepped down from his post in Cambridge though? Surely the Arday precedent demands this?
BREAKING: Reform UK’s James Orr and Dan Jukes have ‘stepped down’ from their roles following last night’s undercover filming on Channel 4 News.

Nigel Farage remains in post.

Comparing here and X on Arday is like two different worlds and tbh not in a way that speaks brilliantly of Bluesky’s concern about academic integrity.
also there's two separate sets of accusations for Arday; he got the TES story - done by legitimate journalists and credible academics - killed by legal threats, and then an online racist stumbled upon the material separately.
it is infuriating to see the wagon-circling for Arday, who does appear to have committed meaningful misconduct, while Claudine Gay, who did nothing substantively wrong, got tossed to the wolves. yes, in both cases the motivations of the accusers were pernicious, but the truth should actually matter!

It was never going to stop with Jason Arday.
Our resident Bluesky creeper Ben Ryan is now turning his attacks onto Jason Arday's students--no doubt the fact that the student is a Black woman has nothing to do with Ryan and Wright's apparent concern for "academic rigor"
