the closest my WoL gets to a break during stormblood, AKA the "comfort sex ((derogatory))" fic.
if you've ever wondered how the fuck hancock got together with yves, well, this is the start!

#solairewrites | #ffxivfanfic | #ffxivwriters
https://archiveofourown.org/works/69357771 summary: A Discreet Arrangement of Mutual Benefit by SolaireLunaire "So you wish to bed me because I'm the Warrior of Light? Or as some godsforsaken means of putting myself further in your—no, in Lolorito's debt?" Hancock sighed as if Yves were the one imposing upon him instead. "Is it truly so inconceivable that I should desire this because you are attractive? It is not as if my libido is at the East Aldenard Trading Company's beck and call, you know." He squinted at Hancock's round, mousy little face in silence. "...Very well, it sometimes is, but rest assured that I am also capable of simply having an urge and wishing it to be sated. Is that notion so surprising to you?" - Or: Hancock makes himself into a reward that the Warrior of Light is too exhausted and pent-up to refuse. "Very well." Hancock's remorse dropped as quickly as he'd put it on, and he was back to his habitual and sleazy smile of choice. "Now, I will not pretend to understand all the Scions or Eorzean Alliance's machinations, but is this shyness of yours a matter of some, ah, organizational policy?" His lips twisted for a moment as if he'd chewed on raw dandelion greens. "Huh?" Yves tilted his neck closer. "‘Twould be unusual to mandate, but such a degree of unnecessary restraint in your personal affairs of pleasure has me concluding that you’ve been imposed upon by business! Or possibly religious faith?" Hancock sighed melodramatically and he glanced down at the blackened water. "For shame..." "Why in the hells would the Scions or the Alliance care about that?" The noise from Yves’s throat had a bastard resemblance to a laugh. "I point my spear where they want me to. Anything else is—" Irrelevant. Meaningless. A waste of time. "Well, 'tis a relief to hear that." For some inexplicable reason Hancock was still peering at the water between them—or between his thighs?—before finally meeting Yves’s gaze with a nod. "See, I was just about to volunteer my services! Should the Scions have put you in a chastity cage, I could lockpick it, you know." Yves's jaw was frozen open mid-response. Some wretched piece of him that had been battered and twisted and left shambling along over the last few moons finally dislodged itself with a sputtering gasp. "Why were you thinking of—of that?" Yves choked out, still chuckling while he failed to regain some sense of poise. The sound of himself laughing was as foreign to his ears as if he'd begun speaking in old Garlean. "What in the hells is wrong with you?"

Nobody can distract a hyperfocused scholar quite like somebody who is just as prone to it himself. 😄
B’alith’s attention drifted back to the book in front of him. He flipped through a few more pages, frowned, worried at his lower lip as he cross-referenced another appendix in a second volume before scribbling down some notes to himself in a third. He was so close to a breakthrough of some sort, he was sure of it, but the pieces were stubbornly refusing to fall into place. His writing faltered mid-sentence when G’raha rubbed a thumb along the trail of short, soft fur that crept up from the waistband of his trousers and marked the place where lower back turned into upper tail. “Do you want to take a break? Look at this again later with fresh eyes?” “No, what I want is to figure out what this historian meant when they said—” “B’alith.” G’raha’s voice had gone low and authoritative in the way that always made him a little weak in the knees. He let his hands slide from B’alith’s waist to brace against the edge of the desk as he shifted closer, before leaning down to murmur into his ear, “What this historian means is: this is a seduction. I am trying to seduce you, in case you failed to notice.”

Day 4: Break
"Reju-vacation"

Shunye and Uvlo take a break from work at the Urqopacha hotsprings! Written as part of OTP Week back in February.

M|1,772 words|DT Spoilers. Shunye has dirty thoughts but can't act on them.
Excerpt from the Final Fantasy XIV fanfiction "Reju-vacation" by EscaFox. Text: “I’m not slow, you know. I just enjoy watching that cute backside of yours!” the Shetona teased. “Heh heh. Excited to have me strip and bathe with you, Master Shunye?” the Veena smiled with a mischievous waggle of his azure ears. The statement caught the alchemist by surprise; usually he was the one to make his bondmate flush and fidget with a well-placed suggestive comment…but that one made him tug at his collar. “Ehem! Well, I suspect they won’t allow us to get completely naked given it’s a public resort,” he muttered.

Though she often finds herself tied up with picking up Wawalago's slack, even Sisipu needs to take a break from time to time! Read all about her catching up with some friends and making a new one in my fic "Friends and Fish".

archiveofourown.org/works/60561721
Friends and Fish NobleJanobii Summary: Sisipu takes the day off from research and running the Fisherman's Guild to meet a friend at Camp Bronze Lake. “Sisipu!” Reyna raised her hand into the air as she called out her friend’s name, waving eagerly to the lalafell. Sisipu guided the chocobo to Reyna’s side and grinned eagerly. “Reyna! Always a pleasure to see you. I hope the journey from Coerthas wasn’t too bothersome this time around.” Reyna waved her hand a bit in annoyance. “No more so than usual. The knights still like to put up a bit of a fuss but they know better than to mess with me now. Though, I think my girlfriend might have made them a bit nervous. She’s got an intimidating aura that makes their skin crawl.” “Girlfriend?” Sisipu leaned over a bit to look past Reyna at the lady behind her. The blonde elezen seemed a bit preoccupied, watching the nearby mamool ja and uragnites with the look of a hunter stalking their prey. Sisipu immediately understood what Reyna meant. “I didn’t realize you’d found a new partner. How long have you two been together?” Heustienne lunges forth, preparing to strike something with a spear. Reyna quickly reels in a fish.

"B’runi Masna of the Dragons of the Deep, by orders of Admiral Bloefhiswyn, you’re under arrest for transgressions against the Galadion Accord."

"Let me go, you shite swimmers!"
B'runi is pinned down to the ground near the ocean fishing docks by a miqo'te in a Yellowjackets universe. Behind her stand several other Yellowjacket guards blocking any avenues of exit. Skye watches in alarm as B'runi's fishing rod and bucket go flying. Another Yellowjacket stands nearby with her axe hoisted over her shoulders. Foerzagyl and Dryskthota look on in shock. A yellow carbuncle watches the scene from close by. Another Yellowjacket can be seen arguing with the nearby merchants that staff the fishing docks. A wider shot of the docks showing all the Yellowjackets blocking the avenues of exit as the civilians react with shock and appall at B'runi's arrest.

(Heavensward spoilers.)

Haurchefant is ready to give his all to protect the man he loves. But will it be enough? (Angst warning on this one, but everything will be okay some day...)
Endings and Beginnings TheLittlestHimbo Summary: "My body moves in the chaos of this moment, but my mind is clear, like the frigid ice of the Swiftrun river reaching effortlessly toward its sister strait. In this moment I feel free, unbound from time and trial; and when free, as ever, my mind returns to him. The man who has changed the world. The man who has changed me. The man who must live on." As he prepares to give everything to save the man he loves, Haurchefant Greystone reflects on the past few days, and the promises that they have made to one another. When lunchtime hits, it's always guaranteed that Cora would steal Alerot away somewhere to have a quick bite. Often it's something he cooks, or tries to cook, with the limited ingredients they have up in Phaenna. Either way, it's a date 💜🌙

Y'shtola comes up to a Callan who is standing with arms crossed. She teases him, "Reuniting long lost siblings, and quelling a threat to the Thirteenth, and you're still off to the side of the festivities brooding? You're worse than a certain Dragoon colleague of ours." Callan responds, "It's not like that just... all the noise and celebration can be a lot. I was finding somewhere more quiet." Y'shtola softens, "Relax dear, twas not my intent to cast aspersions..." Y'shtola moves closer and wraps an arm around Callan, leaning against him. Callan looks down at her. Y'shtola speaks more softly, "Besides, I've got more important things on my mind right now..." Callan offers a chuckle and responds, "Heh, if you say so."
