BiPAP is woke, btw
Kids with Batten Disease often have respiratory issues. We’ve worked so hard to keep Amelia out of the hospital, but last night, her breathing became very labored. She’s in the ICU on a strong BiPAP. She’s doing a bit better, and we hope she can avoid being intubated. We really hate Batten Disease.

Forecast: snow, sleet, PTSD.
Last time, we were stranded for 4 days without power & water; my son was without his BIPAP.

Things got worse. The treatments today heavily impacted Caitlin’s breathing. She is back on bipap with oxygen. 😔
Caitlin update. Not great. Lots of nasty side effects to the zoledronic acid. It barely made a dent in her hypercalcemia. She is exhausted and not opening her eyes. More fluid overloaded. Lots of new electrolyte derangements. Numerous tests & treatments today. 😔

Die Vorbereitungen für den Aufenthalt in der Schmerzklinik laufen an. Klamotten, Medikamente, Handtücher etc. BiPAP-Gerät und Inhalator erst am Dienstag. 🙄

sorry to ask for help again. i found a really good deal for a bipap (cpap but more complex). getting one through insurance is too hard so i'm buying one myself. regular cpap doesn't help me at all, so it's likely i'll find some relief w/ bipap instead.

sorry to ask for help again. i found a really good deal for a bipap (cpap but more complex). getting one through insurance is too hard so i'm buying one myself. regular cpap doesn't help me at all, so it's likely i'll find some relief w/ bipap instead.

Before this trial I’d stop at ~ 20 cmH20, and think about intubating if not improving
