Bsky replier [disgusted]: you mean you LIKE seeing all that invisible CO2?

window glass is like 0.04% of my house, but it would be a hell of a lot colder if I didn’t have any

Probably because their goal is to reduce CO2 rather than harvest angry RTs on bsky.

@climatefran.bsky.social @gwagner.com Really enjoying watching @altmetric.com of your new paper: with thoughtful discussion and resharing of author threads among 155 people on bsky, vs. 21 mostly resharing a post about how CO2 is good, actually back on Twitter

Hey it's bsky so I'm going to assume good faith at first: "dam problems" is an anti-envrionmental shibboleth that tries to distract and pass the buck. It's huge rains. Extra wetness in the air, from the warmness, from the CO2.

ich denke jeder bsky user sollte ein label mit seinem co2 fußbadruck erhalten, dann können wir auch beurteilen ob man sich über die hitze beklagen darf oder nicht

Arctic sea ice now currently lowest on record.
(Yea, keep telling yourself it’s the sun, a hoax, natural climate oscillation, we are still coming out of the ice age, plot to raise taxes, co2 is a trace gas etc.)
Ht to Zack Labe here on Bsky.

#CO2 #Uitstoot #beperken

Shop #circulair! #kringloop

#speelgoed
De CO2-emissie door stroomproductie, per kWh in 2025, in NL,BE, DE, CH, FR & USA.
Zou u de volgorde goed hebben geraden?

Still getting the hang of bluesky or is that bsky?
I never had a Twitter/X account so this is a little unfamiliar.
I'm migrating from FaceBook, although I'm also on LinkedIn.
I'm looking for content here on Biochar: an exciting soil building product that stabilizes CO2 for 1,000 years+.
Thanks!

ALL the commentaries are great, and I should have been doing Bsky threads about all of them. And I will next year (#BetterLateThanNever). The latest commentary is by Prof Paul Edwards. @avastmachine.bsky.social 6/12

3)Hundreds of thousands of jobs will be lost in gas/oil industries unless we do 2)

4) UK has already reduced its Co2 emissions - what about China, India etc who are the biggest polluters?

Clever BSky peeps let’s get some evidence and facts to prove him wrong!

It's time I introduced what kite turbines are on Bsky.
Well they're flying wind turbines made of kites. Less heavy than the alternative. It's an approach to avoiding cubic mass scaling problems, cost & embodied CO2 as wind turbines grow. Maybe these images will help.

This is what I'm talking about. If we say we don't want to use bsky data externally - I'm in. Privacy is great. But if we allow it, we can't shitstorm if someone we don't like uses the data according to our own rules.

For completeness & related: Huggingface is much more than CO2 jugging LLMs!
So like what’s the line that we’re drawing collectively here.

We’re cool with a SaaS that tracks unfollows. We’re cool with a SaaS that tracks metrics.

We’re not cool with an individual doing the same type of data collection on the same resources and uploading it to huggingface.
the bluesky team itself keeps repeating at every possible opportunity that everything you post here is public. yes, bluesky pbc. won't use your data for AI. but a lot of other people will! this is a fact! i'd bet a dollar many already do, they're just not posting abt it to prevent being dogpiled

I only know about Shaolei Ren et al's work from environmental social scientists on twitter & bsky. It's kind of eerie to me that the most accessible pages in google scholar don't have articles on the energy consumption, H2O consumption, & CO2 emission of genAI

Jag vet att man inte får så många likes av bra nyheter här på bsky, här verkar det mesta behöva handla om att de andra på dumma sidan gjort dumma saker nu igen.

Men det här är ändå värt att fira tycker jag: www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Was für eine tolle Idee. Bsky-lerinnen sind auch Papierpost-affin.
