here's a combined demo of my Daffy suite of tools, all TDS listeners (think sybase, SQL server, babelfish, type thing) two work with SQL server, one works with duckdb.

Reading: AWS Aurora Babelfish tuning guide for SQL Server people: aws.amazon.com/blogs/databa... Babelfish supposedly lets you run SQL Server apps hooked up to Postgres. I'll have more to talk about on that soon.

"Yes I must react to claims of those who say that you are not all that" always sounded like it had been through babelfish a few times. #TotP

Though weren't a lot of those bootleg toku subs like, very old machine translations? (I think it was a program called Babelfish)

WE’RE Babelfish – and we’re here in force at the Labour Party Conference. Not quite straight out of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – nor from planet Sigma IX like intergalactic space warrior Count Binface – but in the same vein.

the irony is that one has to be pretty insular to believe other people are somehow free of all the flaws and bad behavior that one's own country or culture suffers from.

sometimes i wonder if online machine translation will eventually have the same effect in our world as douglas adams' babelfish.

the babelfish grade MTL they did a million years ago is *very* charming yes but it makes some of these things impossible to figure out, and the fact that the only online info about this game is *also* in japanese is vexing for me

I remember a real highlight was when me and a few others were trying to figure out how to beat all the wanderers on Shutokou Battle 01 (PS2) using a Japanese online guide we translated using Babelfish so it only made about 30% sense (Subaru always translated as Seabass).
