Adults feed on nectar. Larvae are parasitic on larvae of Ichneumonidae

Hemipenthes comes from the Greek for 'half a black (mourning) veil'

Wind blows over a big box in middle of a sort out a hour ago, I go to sort it and realise there is a Villa Beefly on it! Left box there to see if it came back and it just did (excuse poor phone photo)! And in mean time went to check another insect on Sedum which turned out to be Shrill Carder Bee!

As much as I adore my Hymenopteras, we already have lots of bee/wasp pokemon- Beedrill (+ Weedle & Kakuna), Combee, Vespiquen etc... even bee mimics with Beefly inspired Cutiefly and Ribombee!
