Foster care agencies & state child welfare programs often don't communicate clearly that immigrant children are in *temporary* placements. And while foster families & agencies should be doing everything they can to maintain a child's connection w/a parent while separated, that doesn't always happen.

Children subject to #IllegalAdoptions, #ClosedAdoptions, etc. grow up. When they become legally recognized adults they overwhelmingly seek to reinstate their rights, their identity, their heritage/ancestry, reconnect with their culture(s), etc. With support, many #Adoptees could file cases.

Transferring #attachment is possible, and advisable vs. continued separation resulting in lifetime #Adoption/ #Separation #Trauma. They're also not at all worried about this when they're adopting kids out and only require 30day transitions for infants & toddlers to go to adoptive homes.
