#Blops6
CoD operates a one on, one off system with campaigns. Blops7 was dog shit, Blops6 was a masterpiece, MW3R was ridiculous, MW2R was incredible

I did like BLOPS6 I streamed it but it ended… so suddenly

I wouldn’t go that far. There was just a lot of competition this year, including ARC Raiders, and people’s attention when it comes to shooters was extremely widespread. Not the best of years for COD, but considering the record setting BLOPS6, there was no way but down from there to be honest.

Interesting. I stopped playing CoD last year (2024!) after, IDK, BlOps6, was it? With the Resident Evil Type Campaign House. That was cool. Not bringing DMZ into the new game engine, not updating it, was all just, meh. No thanks. Zombies got too crazy complicated... Delete.

Not trying to dismiss your problems at all. I just remember it more fondly than anything that came after it. Cold War was just not my cup of tea for so many reasons, and BLOPS6 just was miserable to play. MW2 was fun though, more toys than 2019 but some BAD maps.

New year, same story. I blame @zekk.dev for dragging me back into D2, and a little embarrassed by indulging in BLOPS6 guilty pleasure early in the year, but oh well, it is what it is

Like on a base level, the last 2 black ops games set up a fun story working their way back up through the past to get to the future timeline of blops2, the 70's/80's and then the 90s. blops6 ends with a straight up cliffhanger stinger and then 7 just jumps way into the future and disregards all that

"We promise to flip flop the COD series games so we have enough time to not make a dogshit campaign"

Loved the BLOPS6 one at least.

I'm 8 minutes in and I'm in love with that Colin McRae UI. It reminds me of Rez.

Also, I love her Blops6 rage.

I tried playing Blops6/7 multiplayer and holy shit I am unc now, I cannot keep up with the zoomers anymore, I have to play games where I can use my brain instead of my hands to beat them
November 22, 2025 at 12:10 AM
...both BLOPS6 and BLOPS7 were very different with tons of innovations in singleplayer and multiplayer?
November 21, 2025 at 11:23 PM
I really hate sounding like a console warrior because I really do not fw Sony like that but when KZ mentioned BLOPS6 is def the first COD to be produced fully under Microsoft I just started dying

. #CallofDuty BLOPS7 is potentially the worst COD every released. The campaign feels like it was yanked right out of an AI brain and made for mobile. There has been 0 enjoyment from the campaign or multiplayer. Zombies is still somewhat enjoyable but is essentially just an extension of BLOPS6.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time with blops6, but it was the most ethically bankrupt & creatively shizofrenic game I've ever played.

A CoD campaign every few years was my guilty pleasure, but with the BDS boycott & the clear disdain for developers and their players, I'll likely never play CoD again.

Even if they didn't go that direction they could've had an easy layup by doing a very early GWOT game (like '01-'02) starring a young David Mason running into Adler and Marshall, maybe chasing down Mullah Rahman from the '80s portion of Blops2; you get to have your Blops2 tie-in *and* Blops6 sequel
November 16, 2025 at 3:03 AM
Now I don't know why they'd do that instead of just committing to another year of content for Blops6, especially because most of the Warzone players seem to be very annoyed at the game finally settling into an acceptable balance state right before they nuke it with a new release
November 16, 2025 at 2:22 AM
The campaign is total ass but it is a CoD game so the multiplayer fundamentals are still there and a lot of people will play it for that reason

That said, the omni-movement they put in with Blops6 has been divisive because it's very cool but doesn't feel like it belongs in a CoD game

I genuinely don't know what's going on at Activision because they normally rotate studios but with Blops7 they just had Treyarch/Raven jump straight into a sequel the year after they released Blops6 while still doing the live service stuff and it really shows
Blops7 reeks of "oh fuck we need to ship something in 8 months" because a lot of this stuff is just lifted straight from their zombies mode and a bunch of the campaign maps are reskins of Blops6 multiplayer maps
November 16, 2025 at 2:04 AM
yeah the zombies part in Blops6 at least made narrative sense, didn't feel out of place, and was also restricted to that one level

This is just repeatedly coming at you out of fucking nowhere and it also functions as a barely explained narrative timeskip for the characters to jump around

The BLOPS6 campaign is genuinely one of the best out there. Can't wait to replay it!
November 15, 2025 at 11:52 PM
It also really badly wants to trade off of Blops6’s success by bringing back Marshall and the Cradle and the Guild but immediately fucks all of that up by not actually engaging with any of the Blops6 stuff beyond names and voices
November 15, 2025 at 10:54 PM
also lmfao you can tell this game is a "oh fuck we have to ship in 8 months" because they stapled together some maps, tossed in the DMZ AI but with Blops6 zombies health bars and bosses and called it a day
