The Bogleheads ride again. We cannot be stopped
No special treatment for Space X in the S&P 500! Just announced. Wow. That profitability requirement means it might never get in.

we must convert the masses to become Bogleheads (invest in diversified index funds)
Enjoying/depressed by (depending on how rude they are) the people in my mentions implying that I am trying to trick people because this is in the FT’s interests somehow, who presumably think that somewhere in NatWest is a little pile marked “AggressiveJim’s money” that they don’t do anything with.
the British public (maybe all publics? I don't know) are very undereducated about finance.

this is why Cameron was able to get away with crap like "a country's economy is like a household" (NO. IT'S NOT. NO.)

if you put money in a savings account you're letting the bank get rich off investing it

I had my year-end review with my financial advisor, and my portfolio is up 15.7%. When asked why I wasn’t giving them more to manage, I noted $VOO (S&P 500) is up 27% this year.

It’s eye-opening to see that paying an advisor doesn’t reveal secrets you couldn’t learn from a good investing book.

Clipped this post from a reply in the subreddit /r/Bogleheads to highlight a bit of the American existence.

1. How we save for retirement is flawed.

2. Forced car dependency will never mean financial freedom.

It's not hard to say "meet your 401k to the match, if it exists. If not, a Roth IRA in a stock index fund or target retirement date fund is level one, maybe Bogleheads for level 2, give yourself a separate savings account and stick 25 a month in there" that kind of thing.

You ever get bund FOMO @estupi.do ?
The🌎economy is in a crisis, & yet the dollar is falling. Investors are turning up their noses at US debt, instead snapping up gold & German bunds as "safe assets"
