📷 Ottoman pilot Ahmed Ali Effendi, born in Izmir (Western Anatolia) in 1883, is considered the world’s first Black pilot. He flew for the Ottoman Empire in 1916 and is regarded as the first Black military pilot in history. His grandmother was from Bornu (present-day Nigeria). #blackhistory
