#BulkBill
Except those unfortunate enough to be on the dole. Read Jerichos story on the death toll of those who can't afford healthcare due to poverty & greedy Drs who won't bulkbill.

My first two memories of medical care in Oz were 1) going to the GP and paying nothing bc we were poor and places that bulkbill still existed 2) my partner screaming in pain for days, no sleep, due to tooth problems. In conclusion Australia is a land of contrasts.

Labor is making sure there are millions more bulk billed GP visits each year, and tons more local clinics that bulk bill every patient #bulkbill #politas #auspol @australianlabor.bsky.social @markbutlermp.bsky.social

Yes!

GPs who bulkbill will be paid extra $20+ per consult

Practices will receive big incentives if their GPs bulk bill

Massive investment by Labor in Medicare

Aim is to have 9/10 GPs exclusively bulk billing by 2030

We have had a 4% lift in bulkbilling in Boothby thanks to the tripling of bulkbilling incentive. This article counts GPs who 100% bulkbill, which is financially difficult after 6 years of frozen MBS rates. The data from the department counts consultations hillbillies

Not to mention those of various nations who are Australians being left languishing in survival mode under the poverty line on #JobSeeker. Seeking medical doctors who #BulkBill and groceries and rents they can afford. #auspol #RaiseTheRate

Would the LNP have increased Medicare funding so drs can bulkbill, fee free TAFE, reduced cost medicine, reduced HECs 20%, increased unemployment benefits, given stage 3 tax cuts to everyone, increased basic wage, lowered childcare costs, improved aged care, given rebates on batteries, #auspol #qt

The govt set the rebates then left then unchanged for nearly 20 years. Yes, drs can choose to bulkbill. Most can't afford to. Specialists are same - bulk billing rebates are pitiful. Blaming drs for not bulkbilling isn't really fair. $40 rebate for GP appt? My podiatrist gets $55

As a person with chronic health conditions I (my health) can't afford to go to a #bulkbill #GP.

Management of these ongoing health issues can't be achieved in the restrictive 6 minute consultation offered by bulk-billing practices.

Damned if you do/don't.

‘Practices like ours are dying’: why GPs aren’t celebrating Medicare’s record investment
Labor has spruiked its $8.5bn investment as the solution to decreasing bulk-billing rates, but some GPs believe it is ‘designed to fail’

Our health system isn't much better. A huge number of people in this country can't afford health care, as very few GPs bulkbill, even after the extra money they get. Aged care, child care, disability care, all privatised and unaffordable for many. Labor are hypocrites and liars. Greed kills all.

Every single thing on your list is nowhere near substantial, just bullshit tinkering. Why don't you ask someone on jobseeker what Labor has done for them eh, or the people in my town who can't afford to see a GP because NONE of them bulkbill. pfft city centric middle class bullshit.

If you can't find a good #Independent as an alternative to the #MajorParties here in #MoncrieffQld & you've been to a hospital in the last 3 years for yourself or to visit someone you know

If your GP doesn't #BulkBill then just maybe the choice is easy

#Medicare or #Private
