#Bursitis
Not yet lol. Turns out waking up from pain will escalate over the day & make your brother worry about you. You wait a few hours at an urgent clinic & end up having an x-ray/ultrasound/CT ordered. Next day you're confirmed bursitis & also get to wait to see if your disc bulge is worse 😂 Good times! 🙃

FURTHER to my bookings for self-care this fall, there are two extended benefits I think most people overlook --

1) speech therapy
2) podiatry

The latter, people ignore until they're older and then, boom, they're having to deal with bunions and bursitis. I wish I'd gone when I was younger.

I get it, heel bursitis and plantar fascitis kicked me off the ship back in 2013 and that's when I shifted to Altra shoes (zero drop wide toe box) & compression socks. I finally enjoy running again...

i mean i have bursitis but i was still like SIR

Thanks Matt. I had never heard of bursitis until last week! It’s strange in that putting force down through the leg is not painful, but trying to put upward pressure (pulling up against your hand as you remove a shoe, going up steps) is incredibly painful.

Glad you’re on the road to recovery. I had acute bursitis in my left elbow once, it was incredibly uncomfortable. I can’t imagine how awkward it feels on something weight bearing.

Resharing contact info for anyone who wants to talk about a bird they saw. Bursitis rést and rehab is going well but I’d feel more secure if I had some birds in reserve.
Does anybody want to short notice do a guest post on a niche bird blog and newsletter? I feel like I might not be able to get a bird of the day for a couple of days, and I only have one guest post in the bank. skwbotd@gmail.com. Blog in bio.

That’s interesting, thanks Hank. Gait analysis was on my ‘nice to have’ to do list as a bit of fun, but it seems now it might be an important tool for injury prevention. Where did you go to get it done?

And yes, bursitis is bad, a strange type of pain which has odd triggers. Rest seems to help me

I have bursitis in my shoulder and it is not fun. I am a big fan of gait analysis. I had the kind with the suit of ping-pong ball looking things on a treadmill. It was very insightful. The follow-up training and re-assessment were great too. It really fixed subtle and not so subtle form problems.

Bursitis?

And my little car for fitting the outdoor furniture in it (less proud of myself for doing this all on my own in a shoulder bursitis flare up though, I need to get better at asking for help because I could have cried getting the chairs out it hurt so bad)

ICYMI we're closer to figuring up why I've been unable to walk much at all this summer I guess! Severe arthritis is not good news, still think bursitis is in play. Yesterday what I call my "sciatica toes" acted up plus I had swollen ankles at night. It's great, so much fun, love this for me.
After a Spring diagnosis of "might be bursitis" I got x-rays of my right knee yesterday and oh, I guess that would explain why I'm in pain (and haven't been up for walking much & now it hurts even when I'm not moving whee what fun). Love to have more health issues to deal with. (I do not.)

Bodies are such killjoys sometimes.

Signed, someone who just learned the phrase "trochanteric bursitis" 😩
September 27, 2026 at 6:51 PM
Eso se parece bastante a una inflamación del trocanter o algo así me dijeron. Rehabilitación durante unos meses y aún duele, pero se alivia mucho más con un buen profesor de Taichi

FUCKING HELL 😆

If I had a dollar for every new symptom that is likely due to peri/menopause, I'd be rich.

I don't know if I want to re-up my estrogen tho. 75mg made me weepy.

The change into Fall has been kicking my ass, I'm frustrated that it has put a dent into editing cosplay stuff. The bursitis in my shoulders is so bad in the last week.

wearing an ace bandage to work... bursitis go away PLEASE
September 26, 2026 at 6:29 PM
No, I appreciate it. I was prescribed a steroid for scalularthoracic bursitis as well (lolsob) a year or so ago and reacted very badly to itt (flushed, difficulty swallowing) but now wondering if I didn’t give myself time to adjust. I can see myself trying again if this persists.

Still doesn't help me when sitting. Anything harder than a memory foam pad and I will be rocking on my Ischial tuberosities or whatever.

It's genetic. It's quite literally the joke in our family that most of us are to some degree overweight but none of us have any thing to work with back there

Trendusis peleantrica.

Estamos inventándonos palabras?

🤪🤪🤪

Na, ahora en serio. Ni idea, no sé qué es la bursitis trocanterea, básicamente es que nunca me ha dolido ahí, anoche me acosté sin que me doliese ahí y como a las 3 de la mañana ha empezado.

Bursitis trocantérea?
September 26, 2026 at 7:05 AM
Seconded in also has MECFS

And fibromyalgia, and chronic CMV, and bursitis, and the beginnings of rheumatoid arthritis, and autoimmune thyroid disease, and… *sigh*. The hits just keep coming.

Anyway, yeah, people like this do not help our cause.

Dr thinks I have bursitis and not sciatica, which I guess I prefer. But now I need to find anti inflammatory goop

Ik heb mijn huis nog eens redelijk goed gekuist. Uiteraard is mijn heup nu in staking alsof ik opnieuw bursitis heb. Zit ik hier met een icepack, maar wel in een proper huis!
