... app displayed a cryptic error message then the device rebooted. Then, I could not reconnect to the SSID 😂. Device was now paperweight. Having some techie gumption, I read about things like UART and buspirate. Got a buspirate and some SOIC EEPROM pins. Dumped the firmware using the buspirate.

Possible(!) replacement vactrol on the market: store.synthrotek.com/assets/image...

I wonder if I can investigate the micro independently with my buspirate. That would be fun to break out.

That's a BusPirate 3.6 in a 3D printed enclosure. I made the cable myself out of an IDC cable and some Dupont wire. I bricked that at one point and once I figured out how to unbrick it the BusPirate 5 came out. 😑

So I was having trouble now getting the DS3231 ZS-02 module interfaced to the #cyberdeck... So I plugged the module into a #BusPirate (blue box with LEDs under the cyberdeck) and it's detected on an I²C bus scan. Seems there's more gremlins in the hardware. 🫩

Does anyone know where I could get a Bus Pirate in the UK? The Pi Hut seems to be the only official UK stockist and they're out of stock (thepihut.com/products/bus...) and if I order from overseas it might not get here before I go away for Christmas on the 20th December. #buspirate #hardwarehacking

Bro, I've been struggling to figure out how to update my #buspirate 3.6. So many deprecated tutorials!

Then @hon1nbo.hackingand.coffee (likely on a bid to save my sanity) found the ElderlyPirate Bus_Pirate instructions. Updated, easy to follow, and best of all they actually work (so far).
