The better superhero movies balance that out nicely imo. Your CA:WS or, to my utter surprise, SM:NWH... but, yeah, they rarely go to the depth you're wanting. Then again, same goes for most comics!

It interesting how some of the latest phase themes include nods to infinity phase tracks: here it's more overt with CA:WS notes (obviously), but the one I really didn't notice was how much of the Avengers March was used in TBolts: far more obvious now as its first bars launch with the Blu-Ray menu

It’s a great detail from FATWS that Bucky is right handed and the metal arm is his left arm, watching CA:WS and Steve had to switch his shield from left arm to right to stop Buckys metal one. Once he did it was quick work. This movie is so good it should be in everyone’s top five superhero films.

You say it right here. Burton's was dark AF. Dark, and grimdark, fit Batman tonally. Snyder gets heat because he applied that to all of DC. Superman in particular doesn't fit that mold. When the MCU gets it right its because it fits tone to character, ex. CA:WS being a spy thriller. Painting all of

Finished WINTER SOLDIER and I’m on to GOTOG. I love this film, but I’m strongly feeling that this is the moment MCU effects take a significant downturn. IM 3 and CA:WS had some shaky bits, but this feels like the moment spectacle is prioritized over quality and believability.
