EXT. JUNGLE - DAY Bonita flees from the clig. It gradually steers her towards a circular grove surrounded by boulders; a sort of makeshift arena. Bonita runs into the grove -- EXT. CLIG GROVE - CONTINUOUS -- Realising too late that she has been cornered by the clig. She trembles as it stomps towards her. WHACK! The clig grunts from being whipped. It turns around to face Sagittaria. SAGITTARIA Leave her alone you brute! WHACK! She whips the clig again. It SNARLS, no longer concerning itself with Bonita. SAGITTARIA (to Bonita) Run! Hide! I’ll take it from here! Bonita tilts her head, uncomprehending. Another snarl from the clig is enough for her to get the message and run. She stops mid-escape. She hides within some tall grass by the grove’s entrance, settling to watch the fight. The clig charges at Sagittaria. She panics, leaping to the side just in time to evade the clig’s jaw. It SMASHES its face upon one of the boulders and spits out some broken teeth. Blood trickles from its mouth. SAGITTARIA Uh... sure, that’ll work! She runs to the other side of the grove as the clig regains its bearings. She pulls a face at it and slaps her butt. SAGITTARIA C’mon! Over here stupid! The clig ROARS and charges at her. Sagittaria grimaces. SAGITTARIA Almost, almost... now! She whips the clig in one of its eyes, leaping aside just in time for it to smash into the boulder. More broken teeth. More thick splatters of blood. Bonita watches on, stars practically in her eyes. BONITA Aw yeah! Give him the knock-out adventure buddy! SMASH HIM! The clig SCREECHES and thunders towards Sagittaria. Before she can leap aside she strains a burn mark. The pain slows her down, enough for the clig’s leg to clip her. Sagittaria is sent flying left, while the quack hand is sent flying to the right. SAGITTARIA Oh quack! The bloodied clig stomps towards her, SNARLING. BONITA (O.S.) Get away from my adventure buddy! The clig turns back to Bonita, she having climbed upon a boulder. She throws bolts at the clig. One hits it right in the eye Sagittaria already struck, further infuriating it. The clig starts approaching Bonita, only for Sagittaria to throw a rock at it. The clig appears terribly confused. SAGITTARIA Stay away from the kid, freakshow! The clig resumes its approach to Sagittaria, backing her towards the boulders. Bonita fumbles, searching for an idea. BONITA Of course! She reaches into her backpack. Takes out the Bread Bomber. BONITA Go long adventure buddy! Club that clig with this clug! She throws the gun with all her might. It lands right in Sagittaria’s hands just as the clig corners her. She grins madly, switching the safety catch off and aiming the gun right at the clig’s mouth. Sagittaria, an anthro duck woman of 20 years age and 5'0 height, duel wields a pair of machine guns with the gaze of a trueborn lunatic. Page 32 of the Star Ducks pilot. --- STAR PAD STOP! That child is pre-space. Any interactions at all from post-space societies is an extreme violation of the Galactic Code. SAGITTARIA Who cares? She needs help! Sagittaria leaps off of The Quackening. Briefly stumbles from pain. She tanks it, chasing after Bonita and the clig. EXT. JUNGLE - DAY Bonita flees from the clig. It could've been a worse monster. It could've been a clig, and there are for sure a lot of them across Hy, each with a hunting style unlike any other.💀
EXT. JUNGLE - CLIG GROVE - DAY Sagittaria, Bonita and Mirka move through some tall grass, being careful to keep low and quiet. Sagittaria peers through the edge of the grass. Bonita and Mirka poke out their heads beneath her. Nearby a CLIG - the apex predator of HY, a dozen-eyed shark mouth on stocky legs - is goring into a bloodied creature. Sagittaria grimaces. Bonita and Mirka are unphased. Sagittaria peers either side of the clig before her gaze settles onto the beast itself. She sighs. SAGITTARIA Star Pad, please tell me that the tech isn’t inside the clig. STAR PAD Request processed. It is not inside the clig. SAGITTARIA Are you lying to me? STAR PAD Yes. Sagittaria facepalms. SAGITTARIA Honestly, do weapons taste like pondweed ice cream or something? This is like the fourth time a monster ate our stuff. BONITA We gonna take it down? SAGITTARIA Seems we’ll have to. MIRKA Aw yeah.

Next door's puppy woke me up at 5.30 then twice more. Feeling very grim so definitely don't need this on top but, on the plus side:

1. It isn't raining

2. CLIG drinks this week

3. New shed is in our garden. Same brand we originally ordered that went wandering off!
