These are more common than people think! I learned after doing 23&Me that I'm a rapid metabolizer for CYP2C19.
Yes! About 35% of the population has a variant in the genes for the liver cytochromes most drugs are metabolized by. Adderall is CYP2D6 and methylphenidate is CES1. (Vyvanse is metabolized Just Plain Weird and hits several pathways, which is why it's the drug of choice for people with variants.)
