Yeah well they also say a 10 man squad of Cadians is worth 75pts so GW and I are going to agree to disagree on a lot of things Guard related.

Looking at options for my Oryx Militia for my homebrew setting because I don't want just Cadians, seeing they are a supposed to be almost wholly independent from the Imperium.
24 guys for 40 bucks.

Cadians are not incorruptible, they’re human after all and the trauma of losing their homeworld has led more than one unit into desertion or worse. Such was the case of the Whiteshields attached to the Cadian 67th infantry battalion deployed to the fringe world of H’lland.

Watched Starship Troopers with the boy and we got talking about the 40k Imperial Guard. I have the Combat Patrol and I've been considering putting them together...

They'll be modeled as scions and 3rd ed stormtroopers with bayoneted flamers and look a lot like Heretic naval raiders, but I had the idea first.
Then two squads of Cadians to get sticky, with psykers leading both, and my two Vanquishers.

The scions I feel would probably look a little goofy with how wide they are comparatively. Cadians would probably work.

Most of my army is actually Cadians but the only artillery crew are Krieg, I hadn't painted one before!

If you look carefully at my Chaos Cultists, you might notice where I kitbashed them together with some of the old Imperial Guard Cadians to help sell the idea of traitors and looters falling to corruption.

40k hot take: Cadians show up everywhere despite their planet being destroyed because the regiment is the Imperial equivalent to the US Marine Corps - half the guys making the claim have never set foot anywhere near the Cadian Gate, but think it makes them seem tough. It does not

To me the start of 3rd is definitely oldhammer. Most sets of troops were metal and a lot were still from 2nd edition. Later when for example plastic Cadians were released with the second guard codex, that’s where middlehammer began.

What are thigns in Warhammer you find easily mispronounced? For me I struggle not to call Cadia Canadia out loud so I headcanon all Cadians as having Canadian accents.
