Good morning from the loading lanes at Cairnryan, where I’m about to board a ferry to Belfast. Quick turnaround today and then back on the ferry this afternoon. Hoping for calm seas! Have a good day everyone.

Anyone who has driven the coastal road from Ayr to the Cairnryan to Belfast ferry might well remember the beautiful views of Ailsa Craig (aka Paddy's Milestone).

Every curling stone in the world is from Ailsa Craig.

This is a great piece about their production in Mauchline.

Nice boat ride from Belfast and the First little blip on the trip means the extra long route from Cairnryan to Ayr. At least we can enjoy the Scottish country side as it’s meant to be, through the grey rain on a bumpy bus!

Few highlights from a misty, drizzly Loch Ryan included 4 Knot and a skein of c30 Pink-footed Geese over at Bishop Burn. Eider numbers are up with at least 70 off Cairnryan along with a couple of Black Guillemot and Red-throated Diver. #birdingScotland #birds #UKWildlife @dgbirdnews.bsky.social

Boston’s mayor twinning the city with Glasgow is a major betrayal. You think all the Patrick Sullivans in southie hail from Inverness? Did the Dropkick Murphys “ship up” from fucking Cairnryan did they? Am I to believe that the fucking leprechaun on the Celtics logo is an SNP voter? Disgusting

Lots of Black Guillemots around the harbours of Cairnryan, Larne, Ballycastle & Rathlin plus along the causeway coast. These 3 were larking around the ferry & even flying onto the ferry today before we set sail. Love those red feet #ukbirding #nibirding
