AOC: “I’ve never seen anything like that!”

“And frankly men who treat women like that in public, I fear how they treat them in private. WE CAN BE BETTER THAN THIS!”

I distinctly remember when I, many years ago now as a rather naive grad student, had my first stay to do research in Louisiana. I drove down to the coast with - in hindsight - silly expectations about the Gulf coast, and I could not believe how grim it actually was. A #CancerAlley extension, really.
“We don’t really have a Gulf coast in the US,” said Allaire. “We have the east coast, the west coast and the carbon coast. This is simply a sacrifice zone for the oil and gas industry.”
