New pill that can slow progression of incurable breast cancer available in the clinic.

Capivasertib combined with hormone therapy doubled the time the cancer took to grow, delaying the need for chemotherapy, & shrank tumours in 23% of patients.

A new type of drug for one of the most common kinds of advanced breast cancer is now available on the NHS in England.

Some 3,000 women a year could benefit from capivasertib after a clinical trial showed it can slow progression of the disease, and shrink tumours in a quarter of people.

for ~1 in 4 guys with metastatic prostate cancer, treatment wasn't tailored to their pten genetic flaw. but now, fda approved a drug combo that finally targets that specific mutation. that's a really important step from a phase 3 trial.
