they theoretically are drive in restaurants but they often don't staff that part lately, just running as a drive thru. when the drive in part is open they have carhops on roller skates bringing you food. they are paid a tipped wage

Four lovely carhops at Palmer's Drive-In in Port Arthur, 1950s. I'll bet they made a mean chocolate malt. It's kind of got a "Happy Days" feel to it. Do any of you Port Arthur natives remember this place or where it was?
