#CareHomes
Embedding learning in #carehomes is like a forest: strong shared roots, with every staff member free to grow their own way—upwards, outwards, or just standing strong—creating a richer, more compassionate, person-centred culture 🌳🌲🌳🌲

All those carehomes and family members abusing dementia patients and disabled children will be pleased to hear this

Everyone else should be beyond outraged.

The Covid inquiry stated last week that Covid was airborne, this was known from the CATA evidence from day 1. Covid is airborne everywhere, yet carehomes, schools, work still has no guidance in place and everyone is at risk from Post infection vascular risk.
Experts from SAGE, who were advising the government, testified that the government was not following the science in the autumn and winter of 2020. 11/19

As we celebrate #ChristmasDay thank you to the thousands of women and men who are working in #homecare and #carehomes today and all those unpaid #carers. You are the best of us at all times and we need to do better by you. #careaboutcare #carecreates

This first line of Confessions of a Care Home by Sally Lee really pulled me into this memoir. Plus it's SUCH an important subject.

I am unpinning this post for now as the hugely disappointing Module 6 of the UK #CovidInquiry has come to an end. But I will not forget, nor should you, how people living in care were abandoned, neglected, and sacrificed on this man and that government's watch. #CareHomes
Remembering when Matt Hancock showed his contrition and deep reflection on all those lost to covid on his watch by going on "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here".

Canada: "Masking is now required for staff in long term care homes across Ontario amid a recent rise in COVID-19 outbreaks, cases and resident hospitalizations, the provincial government says."

#AmericanPrivateEquity sees great #British institutions as assets to be mortgaged and traded. This is what's happening / happened with #Boots, #CareHomes, utilities like #ThamesWater and football clubs like #United and #Everton. We should be more protective of our legacies and keep them #British

My elderly relative died from Covid and they weren’t treated with respect by our government who cancelled testing from carehomes and five years on elderly are still dying from
Hospital acquired Covid infections, along with other patients. @teamlabouruk.bsky.social the BMA were asking for ffp3 masks🧵

Like. Carehomes refusing to allow gay couples to live together when they allow straight couples, or forcing people into clothing that does not match what they want is a big deal actually!

#anticholinergics can be harmful to older people. Patient empowerment is vital to understand health,to be able to ask right questions.Espec helpful for those living in care homes & staff
Pharmacy profs can play a key role in supporting carehomes by sharing this important info

Matt Hancock didn’t get that much press flack after he sent covid patients into carehomes killing tens of thousands of pensioners

Client media scum owned by billionaires

A good RCT on this would probably involve clusters of a setting, e.g. daycares, carehomes; regularly test participants with PCR/rapid tests; and run in the winter.

Would be v helpful to understand if low-cost filters are effective!

I sometimes wonder if the Spectator and Telegraph recruit columnists from carehomes - their opinions are so mad and illogical it's as if they are sadly spiralling down with dementia.
