It spans 20 metres (66 ft) and is 30 metres (98 ft) above the rocks below. Now owned and maintained by the National Trust.

So many times tourists point blank refuse to make the return journey across the bridge and have to be taken back by boat. 😂 The bridge has many 100s of thousands of visitors a year.

There have been many instances where visitors, unable to face the walk back across the bridge, have had to be taken off the island by boat.

The wee white bothy was used by men fishing for the salmon that passed thru’ under the bridge - a tradition dating back to the 18th century which has been banned since early 21st century ☘️

View starting at the #CarrickARede bridge (more later) and far enough clockwise to see the #MullOfKintyre in #Scotland. I had a car reserved to drive there a week later, but after driving a round-trip back here from #Belfast and into the Republic Of #Ireland the next day, I refused to push my luck.
