ol' Harry from chemtwitter would say bars need a degreaser management program, I would say you need a degreaser lock-out/tag-out system

preordered my copy!

In addition to Debbie being one of the absolute best and most generous long time members of the chemtwitter (RIP) and now chemsky communities, she is also a phenomenal spectroscopist. Even if she weren’t both those things, this just looks like a great read!

Order yours today!
We are about 6 months away from my book, RESONANCE & RADIANCE, being released into the world. (April 13th, 2027!)

RESONANCE & RADIANCE is a narrative nonfiction book about spectroscopy—the field of science that studies how light interacts with molecules.

I want to share this book’s origin story 🧵:

And for all the long time #chemtwitter / #chemsky friends—i interviewed @sararah.bsky.social for the NMR chapter in her magnet lab in Ames, Iowa!

I’m so grateful for the generosity of experts like Sarah who took the time to talk to me and also give feedback on the book!

Magnetic resonance besties!! 🧲💜🧲

How it’s going / how it started!

I got to visit @sararah.bsky.social midwest magnet fleet 🧲🧲🧲

For the last decade, Sarah has been a generous source of knowledgeable & a super kind pocket friend!

She also gave me a tour of Ames including her adorable plant shop🪴

I remember a LONG discussion thread back on #ChemTwitter about the proper way to draw/represent the S-O bond in DMSO
Lots of strong opinions from the populace

Nice article on thesis acknowledgment sections by @adamcvean.bsky.social at @chemistryworld.com!

Read this and you'll learn that acknowledgments are a (guilty?) pleasure for me, particularly if the'yre somewhat unusual or juicy. Also quotes from some absolute chemtwitter/chemsky allstars

No I figured it was something like that, it just sounded specific enough that if it came from anyone more publicly petty than you Id wonder 😂

But yeah there are some candidates that chemtwitter has locked horns with before 😂 but admittedly not on purely scientific grounds afaik

So I haven't submitted a preprint to ChemRxiv before, but I'm considering it. How have people found the preprint process? Has it helped the visibility of your work? Has it helped find a journal for the paper? Other thoughts? #ChemTwitter

I've not experienced this type of rejection before... Are these becoming more common? They really should include this in their publishing statistics, as it seems disingenuous to boast of rapid publication times when you can't get reviewers. #PayYourReviewers #ChemTwitter

TIL there is a journal called "Molecular Pain". You can even express your molecular pain in the form of a micro-report. #MolecularPain #ChemTwitter #RealTimeChem
