#Makerspace, #CircuitPython, and #ESP32 friends. I'm planning a 2 hr workshop for ESP32-S3s based on a Pico workshop I've given about a half-dozen times. You're free to use the slides & code. I'd also welcome comments / suggestions. Cheers. bit.ly/ESP32-S3-wor...

🙌 I can believe it was Coding Grace's penultimate session today of our Intro to #Python & #Electronics question series.

⚙️ From what was learnt from previous sessions, we challenged participants to interact w/ electronics on a breadboard with a #Pico using #CircuitPython. 🧵1/2

When I was building my Lizard project, which uses CircuitPython, I had a hard time getting the ESP32-S3 board to stop audio without popping compared to the Pico board. Never really investigated it and just stuck with the Pico. See the conclusion at the end of the post. YMMV.

I’m thinking of switching from the Raspberry Pi Pico 2W to the ESP32-S3 N16R8 for my #CircuitPython #maker class. Any reason not to? Audio requires a DAC & more wiring but otherwise seems like a good choice. Any info on forthcoming Raspberry Pi microcontroller boards?

Replacing the second Mini-Button with a NeoPixel stick might work for lighting longer warp nacelles. But, first things first.

NeoPixels arrays would need to be controlled by a microcontroller (QT Py RP2040) running #CircuitPython. Level shifting would be done with the NeoPIxel BFF.
