#Civility
it's not that Dems and leftists need to be assholes, or dirtbags. It's that we have to end the bogus and self-defeating worship of civility.

Uncivil people don't deserve civility. When someone advocates for politics of bigotry, cruelty and murder the proper response is to fuck them up.

Civility serves the uncivil

I never want to hear from David Brooks again. Mewling about "civility" while the fascists literally kill people in concentration camps.

[Clears throat]

"We should be asking ourselves: When is civility useful and when is it a canard for oppression? When is anger a detriment and when is it a righteous tool?"

Big day for those fluent in the good grammar of civility to deploy decorum to mask agendas of cruelty is it John
Important response from Mahmood to the charge of changing the rules retrospectively, as @pronouncedalva.bsky.social points out: “Being in the UK does not give someone an automatic right to settle under the rules that existed when they first arrived”

It’s time to remember that enforcing consequence for corruption, prosecuting authoritarians, and purging white supremacists, is what countries must do if they want to regain health, and anyone who treats such acts as unhealthy, dangerous, or uncivil has no interest in health, safety, or civility.

There is no civility without accountability.
November 4, 2026 at 2:59 PM
My current political mood can be summed up as "Fuck civility, fuck grace, punch these fascist fucks in the face." So, don't look over here for suggestions on how to unify across party lines. Impeachment baby. Impeachment.

Decency is a better descriptor than civility
indeed. if civility is a real substantive commitment and not mere aesthetic table manners - that is, if it's a commitment worth having - it not only *allows* for expelling concentration camp aficionados from the realm of "polite company", it *requires* it

Stop asking people of colour to conform to your bullshit civility tbh
Was a bit weird how he spoke to that Sky reporter though

Bring Civility Back!

The age of civility porn is dying. Now is the age of shame.
It is really funny to me how non-gracious and mean AES was to Mike rogers in his victory speech. It did sound genuinely different to me. Usually, after a bitter hateful campaign the winner says some pro forma nicety about their opponent, Abdul just said he was hateful & he should never come back lol

Civility loses elections for Dems and Brooks knows it. He wants the crude killers to succeed.
November 4, 2026 at 1:53 AM
Civility got thrown out by the right. I don't wanna hear it from the left.
November 4, 2026 at 4:47 PM
Thank fuck for that.

Now, US Democrats, please DO SOMETHING!

None of this piss weak 'civility', take those fuckers down and make them pay.
November 4, 2026 at 8:35 AM
And pundits call for a civility and return to norms.
November 3, 2026 at 3:40 PM
Civility is a con. It’s a tool of the status quo. It’s most often called for when the people who get mauled by the powerful try to vindicate their rights or their humanity.
November 3, 2026 at 5:15 PM
Ever notice how policies meant to "maintain civility" just end up protecting jerks?
November 3, 2026 at 4:39 PM
One has to wonder how exactly the Dems are gonna fuck this up, & how quickly. Maybe they'll just keep voting GOP proposals through for "civility". Maybe they'll not make any radical motions themselves to seem "sensible" for the presidential election. Truly, it's all to play for!
November 4, 2026 at 9:24 AM
i would even settle for civility if that was all that was on offer. nope. neither civility NOR morality.
November 3, 2026 at 1:33 AM
The “burden” of civility is only ever put on Democrats
Sometimes you dodge many bullets only to run into other bullets. AES is an extremely talented politician. His defense of religious freedom in the “Tommy” confrontation was fantastic. His danger zone is a reluctance to show grace to opponents.

Alt Text: under the headline "Important Reminder" is a tweet reading "There will come a time when people will ask for civility and restraint when punishing this criminal regime. It's important that you tell these people to fuck off"

At Wash U, ready for some effin' civility....
October 30, 2026 at 2:16 PM
Yep. Civility, as practiced and defined, has meant deferring to the emotional and psychological comfort of predators, sadists, bullies and their defenders/lickspittles.

Avoiding of conflict is not civility. It’s created by making confronting bullies, predators and sadists the norm.
