I'm not a verilog person but /r/computerarchitecture/ is a good subreddit with a lot of interesting info in it

1) Material science
2) Structures
3) ComputerArchitecture
4) Fluid Mechanics
5) Electronics

A lot of shallow furrows rather than any deep plough through a field.

Happily whatever the subject, I had a specialist of every topic working by me in my student job of nightclub doorman, who’d explain all.

You can’t trust everyone.
You can trust the architecture.

Intel released a new CPU on March 22, 1993. Instead of a part number, it had a brand name. Calling it Pentium instead of 586 helped Intel's problem with clones. dfarq.homeip.net/what-came-af... #CPUHistory #ComputerArchitecture #Innovation #TechThrowback #1990sTech #Microprocessors #RetroComputing
What came after 486?
Changing from part numbers had benefits for Intel, but it took time

On April 2, 1997, AMD released a new CPU. If it succeeded, AMD had a chance at success. If it failed, AMD would probably go under. That CPU was the K6, and it revitalized AMD. #RetroComputing #TechHistory #ComputerArchitecture #Innovation #TechMilestones #1990sTech dfarq.homeip.net/amd-k6-relea...

I hate to burst this person’s bubble but Tachyum Prodigy got a bunch of attention 2 years ago and they have yet to deliver, so we should be skeptical of fantastic claims without details to back them up.

ISA independence gives long-term optionality. Open standards like RISC-V make that optionality real.

#FlowPPU is instruction set independent, enabling integration across different #CPU ecosystems w/o locking performance gains to a single ISA. #RISCV is our 1st supported architecture bc its open standard, tooling, & community align w/ this philosophy + accelerate both innovation & collaboration.

The reality of tensor after being frustrated af why C doesn't work, I put the bare die under an industrial grade microscope and what I saw was not human. It's not possible for us to make something like that at all, it looks like a living mind. It's very weird.

I saw this post and thought it was referring to some new research on how computer architecture is related to theoretical physics.

OP was referring to temporal and spatial locality 🙂
