#AMomentinNature was noticing this tiny, iridescent blue fly on a forked bluecurls (Trichostema dichotomum) leaf. It's probably a Glossy Blue Fly (Condylostylus mundus).

That’s a long legged fly- specifically Condylostylus occidentalis- and they’re actually beneficial because they eat aphids and mites.
The damage to your beans looks more like Japanese beetles or something similar.

I believe they're a condylostylus caudatus, a long legged fly. Or maybe a related species? I based the art off that species.

Green lacewing larvae, Chrysoperla sp on daisy fleabane. Voracious predators of aphids, this one cleared the plant up fast. At this point I don't think there are any more aphids. Probably not just due to this one larvae. There's also hoverflies, ladybugs, and Condylostylus.

This fly is so green!

I started following a gardener in my area, and they post lots of pictures of insects they find among the native plants. It has raised my appreciation for and ability to notice details about insects.

Long-legged fly, Condylostylus sp. Colorful and common, these flies are like metallic jewels. They commonly rest on leaves like this one does. They are predatory, feeding of soft bodied invertebrates such as aphids.
