Abolishing Stamp Duty will deplete Treasury Income & fuel house prices. It is not a good idea and will aggravate the housing problem.
It would be better raising SD, not abolishing it.

Abolishing stamp duty won't make any difference to whether or not people can afford to buy a home. The only thing it will do is push the price of houses up.
Every time a tax or benefit has been added/taken away in the past, all that happens is an "adjustment" in house prices.
