On my point about the tests not being necessary for rewriting software: This is readline reimplemented against synthetic tests that the agent first created against the original readline. Basically a GPL to MIT laundromat. github.com/mitsuhiko/li...

lineread: a reimplementation of the GNU-licensed C readline as MIT-licensed in Rust

historically, rewriting in a different language was solid proof against plagiarism, but this is clearly intended to be plagiarized

and it works, very well

Lo de la música es una gilipollez. El propio YT tiene una galería de música copyleft. No tienes ni que ir a buscarla a otro lado.

Not someone I often agree with, but a good argument: vitalik.eth.limo/general/2025...
Why I used to prefer permissive licenses and now favor copyleft

How to say that you don't understand economics / copyleft / P2P sharing without saying it.
Free cultural spread of media allied to paid purchase of work is fine. That was the old model. A blend.

Replacing it all with normalised piracy, and all the money going to platforms and distributors has wrecked the idea of creative careers completely.

The sharpest friction wasn't the algorithm, but the license. The creator framed AGPL as an intentional barricade to stop big tech from absorbing the code for free. Several commenters pushed back, warning that copyleft on a CLI tool often just stops developers from using it at work. #opensource 3/4

the same time the owner of the original IP doesn't get free license to your derivative work; it's why, legally speaking, no author or IP owner can admit to, say, reading fanfic of their work unless they give it their blessing in advance and have some kind of copyleft sort of thing happening where if

copyright is there to protect the walt disney corporation specifically. (not kidding, they are the driving force behind the legislation.) i grew up reading cory doctorow and loving the copyleft movement and the pirate party, and i miss the open internet before people started walling off content

We've really gone downhill since copyleft Addison Rae just saying

No, I just want LLM trainers to license the assets they used to train LLMs, or use only public domain and/or copyleft assets.

If that makes it somehow impossible for an LLM to make a game, that's an economic limitation of the use of LLMs.

I am convinced but then again I'm a "copyleft" kinda gal, as are these folks. many on this site would vehemently disagree!

Does it distinguish between permissive and copyleft clashes, or just flag any mismatch?
November 1, 2026 at 5:08 AM
No. It might make the default imagery more antique -y.. basically go back to the version prior to the mass scrapping projects, and leave the internet searching aspect on scan instead of having it in constant training mode. ( Grok ).

There is plenty of commons and copyleft work for them to use.

my opinion is:
you shouldn't be able to own ideas. intellectual property is a cancer, copyright as follows too.
i say this as a person that was (is but i don't know what my stance is atm) very pro gpl and copyleft.
if you want to copy any of what i put on the internet, do it, feel free.

...local gov't, public libraries, public education, or public health (yes, high profile overpriced bus ticketing system, I'm thinking of you, too!) or whatever, developed by our very capable local industry under a 'copyleft' license (this is a 100% requirement)... piloting it... and if it works […]

copyleft가 그냥 맘대로 쓰세요인줄 알았는데 파생물을 공유할 의무가 추가로 생긴다는걸 처음알았어

진짜 의미의 맘대로 쓰세요는 CC0 1.0 이구나

In this new #opensource ecosystem, improvements flow back upstream.

Local tweaks become contributions. A bug report can turn into a GitHub issue and a PR, written by #local #inference.

#Copyleft keeps everyone honest.

Further aside: here in NZ, gov't folk tried to water down the licensing of our own NZ-GOAL Software Extension to make it more 'corporate friendly'. We pushed back hard. See the copyleft side. https://data.govt.nz/toolkit/policies/nzgoal/nzgoal-se Sadly the 'loomio' (a NZ-developed libre […]
