A study of masks and respirators confirms, yet again, that earloop KN95/KF94 masks perform similarly to surgical masks. Earloop masks should not be recommended as a substitute for proper headstrap N95 respirators—except for the rare wearer who passes a fit test in them.
Measuring the fitted filtration efficiency of cloth masks, medical masks and respirators
Importance Masks reduce transmission of SARS-CoV2 and other respiratory pathogens. Comparative studies of the fitted filtration efficiency of different types of masks are scarce. Objective To descri...

Things to do given limitations of wastewater models for tracking Covid spread:

1. Mask.

2. If you have the means, provide masks and tests to others who can't afford them.

3. Advocate for free masks, tests and vaccines for all, as well as more current and accurate Covid data from our government.

This article is misleading and emboldens pandemic deniers and minimizers.

It's incorrect to say there was no science to support distancing rules.

The science absolutely shows us that increasing physical distance is associated with decreasing viral transmission risk.
In the pandemic, we were told to keep 6 feet apart. There’s no science to support that.
In a congressional appearance, infectious-disease expert Anthony S. Fauci characterized the recommendation as “an empiric decision that wasn’t based on data.”

If you were at #2023AAACASCA/#AAACASCA2023, think about US Thanksgiving/other travel: COVID-19/other viral symptoms take a few days to show, please don't spread stuff to friends/family.

I'll be testing every other day for the next week and keeping an eye on things--join me?

Not that we have made, as US info seems less sparse. We focused on the UK, because hardly any resources exist.

This table was shared in the Library, but I'm afraid I don't have the spoons to alt text it.

🍵😏 yes - & the airborne virus lingers in unventilated & unfiltered spaces where people have been;

so wearing a respirator even if such rooms
aren't currently crowded is very reasonable
given what we know about airborne transmission,, 🤌🏼

This is public health at its best. In 30 seconds - 'SARS-CoV-2 continues to mutate. You will continue to be reinfected. The risk of #LongCovid increases with each infection. Ventilate rooms frequently, and wear a mask. Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

With many people getting COVID from the summer surge, a reminder that the CDC's isolation guidelines are inadequate.

It's best to isolate until you test negative on multiple tests. If you can't stay home the whole time, wear an N95 mask to stop the virus spreading to others.

How to avoid #Covid when a contractor visits your home, part one.

I needed a plumber because my toilet was broken.

1. I put my P100 respirator on when I knew the plumber was on his way...

2. I made the plumber put on a 3M Aura *before* entering my apartment.

Does anyone know of any good data & studies which look at vaccine effectiveness against infection & transmission within our current condition of uncontrolled rapid mutation & spread of variants?

My guess it'll resemble what we see flu vaccines, i.e. more
