#CovidProtectionsNOW
Without going into detail, I'll just say that it is INFURIATING to see up close how doctors (esp the white man variety) not only ignore prior Covid infections, but also don't bother to mask around patients experiencing heart failure 🤬
#CovidIsNotOver #CovidProtectionsNOW #DismantleWhiteness
I know at least two people who’ve had heart attacks & heart failure after they had COVID. But a doctor assured one of them that it didn’t have anything to do with COVID, so they’re none the wiser & not protecting themselves from further infections.

A Canadian study of nearly 9,000 adults looked at repeat COVID infections. Researchers found that people who reported having COVID at least twice had 76% higher odds of being diagnosed with a new health condition, across 21 conditions studied, compared with those who reported never being infected.

A study of 154 professional singers found COVID-19 had lasting effects on vocal health. After recovering from COVID, 53% reported persistent vocal changes and 44% new throat clearing. Researchers found COVID more than doubled the risk of voice impairment, highlighting the need for post-COVID care.

When I was volunteering at the COVID19 vaccine POD in 2021, people would say over and over again that they were getting vaccinated for the people they love.

Last year, only 17.5% of American adults got the COVID19 vaccine.

Please get one for the people you love. 💕

This is serious. It's also depressing that any time an article on COVID being back (it never left) tons of people post stuff like "not falling for that again!" or some conspiracy claim. We are fucked. Wear a mask.

I spoke to the mutual aid groups and mask blocs combatting the spread of COVID and viral illness by freely distributing masks and tests and lending out air purifiers — who nationally have now distributed thousands of masks for wildfire smoke, too, amid an anti-public health admin @us.theguardian.com

A study of 2.4 million U.S. patients (Jan 2022–Mar 2023) found Black patients are less likely to get diagnosed with long COVID than White patients. This diagnostic gap exists even though both groups face the exact same long-term burden.

We cannot build a sustainable front against fascism while ignoring the ableism (and its inherent racism, sexism & classism) among many in the lefts who insist on ignoring one of the most important disability justice issues of the day.
When Biden & Dems embraced a vaccine-only strategy & abandoned all other layers of community protection, it gave more leverage to the fascist GOP to accelerate #COVID19 transmission.

Ocular symptoms like blurred vision and difficulty reading affect up to 35% of people with long COVID, but standard eye exams can’t detect these issues.

We need N95 and KN95 respirators to be as cheap (or cheaper) than baggy blues.

We need clean air to be as available as clean water.

RFK Jr: I terminated the COVID vaccines because it didn’t make any sense. COVID is gone.

Note: From July 2024 to June 2025 in the US, COVID19 caused up to 450,000 hospitalizations and 53,000 deaths.

COVID ain’t gone, shitbird.
Up to 56,000 people died from COVID-19 or RSV last year
RSV was associated with 190,000 to 350,000 hospitalizations from July 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025, as well as 10,000 to 23,000 deaths, according to new CDC data.

“We wish it were just a cold. We would not keep talking about it if so. Since 2020, doctors, scientists, and millions of people who have had COVID-19 have learned that it can cause permanent damage to multiple organ systems within your body…”
This week marked the anniversary of the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve summarized our thoughts a bit below, but tl;dr: Unfortunately, COVID-19 is still with us, & although we may be tired of hearing about it, it’s extremely important to continue to take steps to protect ourselves & others.
March 13, 2026 at 6:30 PM
Bottom line from the last 6 years of COVID research : If you’ve got blood vessels, you’d be wise to avoid additional infections.

Now is a great time to normalize wearing a respirator. Might feel awkward at first, but every person who does makes it easier for others to follow. Be a leader. 😷

Community protections against Covid also work against flu.
The rhetoric of many liberals/leftists that "Covid is no more dangerous than the flu" only fuels MAHA's necropolitics & anti-vax crusade.
