#Cratchit
oh man i figured it out, it's been bugging the hell out of me: Elizabeth Holmes, in the trailers for the documentary, looks like a cartoon mouse version of Mrs Cratchit in a Don Bluth-produced version of A Christmas Carol.

it's called Bob Cratchit Couture
recession indicator (attempt to make wearing all your clothes, so you don't have to pay a baggage fee fashionable)
Men’s designers proposed extremely layered looks — shirts on top of shirts, socks on top of socks — on the fall runways.

"Once purchased, clothing may be used indefinitely for the purpose for which it was designed. Coal is momentary. Coal is fleeting. There will be no more coal burned in this office today, Mister Cratchit!"

If the Ghost of Christmas Future showed Scrooge his future, & told him, “1. Give Bob Cratchit a raise, 2. Buy a giant turkey, 3. Help Tiny Tim,” in order to avoid it, then yes, I would consider it a bad story.
Thankfully, it shows Scrooge the future & lets him decide how to rectify it as he sees fit

Well that's what I get for not reading the whole list lol.

I also just got an advance copy of A Scrooge Mystery by Andreina Cordani, which was released overseas last year and comes out in the US Nov 3. Bob Cratchit is arrested for murder and Scrooge has to find the real culprit, alongside Tiny Tim.

Definitely an endorsement! (Plus Dickens' himself--love the book!). Here's a 13 minute excerpt.

See also his "Sonnet a Day" YouTube project from 6 years back. He's just a splendid interpreter of story.

Was Bob Cratchit a good employee though? I am still on the fence about that.

Relented and turned on the heat today (I work from home Mondays and Fridays). Not quite ready to wear Cratchit gloves yet.

However, it's been since spring since the downstairs furnace has been on and I thought it was the garbage being picked up outside before realizing what was going on.

Tell Bob Cratchit he may have an extra scuttle of coal for the fire this Christmas.

I give them credit for wanting to push the darker elements in this one, but I'm sorry that scene with Mrs. Cratchit made me wanna go off the deep end. That was so gross.

I wrote a book called Cratchit & Company in 2009ish, which is a quasi sequel. It eventually loops around to the same ending, because that is not an ending, or meaning, that you want to mess with.

Bob Cratchit comes home with Tiny Tim on his shoulder. From the illustrated A Christmas Carol on Storieta. The crutch, the iron frame, and nobody in the room looking at either.

(Admittedly this is easy mode because #muppet.)

because if tiny tim died it would've sent bob cratchit into a berserker rage, unlocking new depths to his power. tiny tim living means bob is essentially stuck at building level
