Incidentally, this is how life feels both in the experience of time and apparently one flavour of its mathematical representation.

I'm almost there. I think this is where I got boondoggled on the ol' regex.... that's what we say right?

I can compute the critical points but it's converting their labels (which in theory should be the easy part) that's a bit of a doozy atm.
