Xteink's stock software can't look up words, but CrossPoint and CrossInk can. Drop a StarDict dictionary into the right folder, and you get definitions mid-book.

I have to say, it makes me extremely happy how much I'm reading currently. Now on a documented streak of 28 days (definitely more though). The phone has also become less of the focus during short or longer breaks, which is amazing.
I hope it stays this way […]

I have to say, it makes me extremely happy how much I'm reading currently. Now on a documented streak of 28 days (definitely more though). The phone has also become less of the focus during short or longer breaks, which is amazing.

Yep, I use Crisspoint, just didn't want to roll the dice on Crossink and figure stuff will hit "point" once it's stable.

Boox Picco běží na upravené verzi firmwaru CrossPoint, ten původně vznikl pro Xteink :)
Tak jsem zvědavej jestli půjde sideloadnout třeba CrossInk (crossink.dev), ten na X4 používám, protože má další krásny serepetičky.

On the XTEINK you do have to flash it, I apologize I forget it's not the default since everyone does it immediately for the most part.
I don't know if the boox will be locked, the XTEINK's never will, but boox might for some odd reason but I'll be real Crosspoint/Crossink are great.

I switched my Xteink X4 Pro over to CrossInk 10 days ago. Which means I now have stats about my reading. I love stats 😄

Yesterday I got my XTEiNK 4 Pro. Simple enough eReader. Had a play with it, nuked the OS and seamlessly installed CrossInk instead, turning it into a MUCH better device.
That? That's the good feeling. The only good feeling a device can give me these days. When it lets me do what I want with it.
