You know what really bugs me? Not having a stable framework for understanding the evolutionary history of Cucujiformia... ...Oh, hello there, Li et al.! #phylogenetics #evolution #Coleoptera #entomology #BugSky onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

this is one of those families where there are so few species you can absorb the world's knowledge about them in a day or two. As a fresh baby postdoc I was asked to write a book chapter about them, which is a hilarious way to prank a leiodid taxonomist: www.degruyter.com/document/doi...

The tiger beetle is one of 101 beetle observations in our iNaturalist project, the Humber Arboretum Atlas:
inaturalist.ca/observations...

The sightings could represent up to 43 different species, but many of the IDs remain unconfirmed, like this one: inaturalist.ca/observations...
