It was 2018, something I read at the time said it was ‘dangerous’, probably for inexperienced walkers/climbers.
Just like going up a Cuillin or a mountain in Glencoe wearing inadequate footwear and no idea of the terrain and how to read a map is actually life threatening!
One day I might be back.

Not surprised. There and Assynt are my favourite bits of Scotland. (The Cuillin is a close third but is marked down for a bad scare 20 years ago!)

AROUND 2pm on Monday, 14 September, 2026, Police Scotland said they received a report of a body found in the Cuillin area of Skye. Formal identification has yet to take place but the family of hillwalker Hector Patemore, 45, who had been reported missing from the area, are aware. Mr Patemore who lives in Belgium, was last seen around 10.45am on Sunday, 13 September, 2026 leaving the Youth Hostel in Glen Brittle in Torrin to begin his walk.
