NYT monitors employees and contractors on social media, and keep offending messages in a database. And public criticism of NYT is grounds for termination especially if you're not in the guild.
BREAKING: The New York Times has terminated their contract with romance columnist Olivia Waite after she reposted @markjacob.bsky.social 's repost of @marisakabas.bsky.social criticism of the Times’ coverage of new rape allegations about Trump.

Wait. Were they searching for themselves in a real leaked database or did someone claim to have a leaked database intending to lure them into searching for themselves in order to collect the names? Because the second one would be pretty badass.

there is absolutely nothing sexy about writing a database. it is grueling and unforgiving in a way usually only
understood by solo cave divers and religious ascetics
they insisted on

- strict serializability by default, no compromises
- horizontal scaling across nodes while maintaining the above
- seamless replication and repair with instant failover
- extremely stringent correctness testing
