There have to be some absolutely brokenhearted DBAs giving this access away that would normally take a zillion layers of scrutiny and weeks+ to authorize
3/ different pieces fit together. There also seems to be a significant amount of downloading government data onto private servers, etc, totally outside any cybersecurity regime. Additionally it’s unclear to the people inside whether the people doing these things actually work for the US govt…

3/ of like DBAs, etc. The one question I get into in the piece which I don't know the answer to is that text come under different regulatory and legal regimes. So in practice impersonation may run afoul of some laws even if they're not technically claiming to be the Harris campaign etc.

Maybe I'm just desperately clinging to a career, but much of software engineering is not just banging on a keyboard like a monkey, but having discussions with Business Analysts, DBAs, other devs and sometimes yes even the users, about design and implementation. That requires expertise and insight.
