I like the garden too, but if its non-profit leadership cannot figure out how to operate without driving the talent out the door, it is untenable in its current form. That’s all there is to it. It is not pandering to tell people who are hurting, frightened or upset that you hear them and want to help.
It is pandering to then claim you're going to help in the exact way they're demanding, even when you know it's unsupported by evidence, suboptimal or impossible to do in practice.

I was raised by a nurse with an associates degree and a steel mill electrician. I am not denigrating the value and dignity of blue collar work when I ask how many elite national media staffers are raising future bricklayers themselves.
