A quick & dirty vector sketch for some potential letterpress. I can already see a lot of possible tweaks, and these fonts are only a very loose match for the wood type I have available at the studio - when I'm well enough to get there again! #DHTries

More paperweaving experiments, dropping the letterpress misprint strips until I figured out how to make 2! vaguely cubic! shapes (going for a cube pattern). Need to restart the whole with a couple changes to make it easier on myself (3rd layer is tight, paper has no stretch). #DHtries #DHmakes

For #DHtries #DHmakes, here are some letterpress draft prints from acclimating to unusual press+ink that didn't turn out as wanted. Pic 1 bc registration (multiple layer passes) is harder on this press + I totally winged it; Pic 2 from figuring out how this different ink type layers.

Managed to get the digital knitting machine working with the AYAB Arduino shield for the first time in ages. I don't have the hang of the tension yet (so various holes and glitches), and the software hung on row 153 for several repeats, but all in all it feels like progress. #DHmakes #DHtries

Today's letterpress jewellery experiments proved something, but mostly that it wouldn't work - the substrate deforms badly. I'll have to try support frames and/or batch processing before cutting, which poses more registration issues... #DHTries

Laughing at myself as I frog v1 of the #DH2026 souvenir top because of an algorithmic glitch. Both at first and when I double checked several times, I misread *k2tog yo twice k2tog* as *k2tog yo twice* leading to a vast stitch increase every other round. Time to try again! #DHmakes #DHtries

Have been doing random tapestry experiments & trying to figure out my next weaving project. Was feeling a little frustrated, not loving the results (photo 1) & then a little inlay idea (photo 2) turned into a pattern I love, likely now a study for a bigger piece. Moving from #DHtries to #DHmakes!

One of the great joys of my adult life has been realizing that I can just pick up a new skill every so often, take a fun little class in it weekly for a year or two, and simply enjoy meeting people and getting medium proficient and not attempting to become professional in it at all!
