Oh yeah if you're also a Linux sicko: install dnsmasq and resolvconf and watch your Steam download speeds quadruple. There's an ollllllllld bug in the Linux client and having a local DNS cache avoids it.

If you use Laravel Valet and Safari feels slow on .test domains, the fix is simple.
Safari tries IPv6 first, times out, then falls back to IPv4. Just tell dnsmasq to also resolve .test to the IPv6 loopback address and restart it.

古いルーターにopenwrtを入れてdhcpと
dnsmasqを運用していたのはRaspberry Piに移行して廃止した。Netgearの

I managed to cook up a Linux VM using nginx + dnsmasq + squid (for proxy) in order to achieve what I was wanting after all.
I can finally load downloaded snapshots of older sites (even create my own fictional sites) as if it were the mid-90s. :P

if you run pi-hole, six dnsmasq CVEs just dropped and your dns could be wide open. first step: run `pihole -up` and verify your dnsmasq version is patched. wrote the whole thing up on the blog.
