Of all mononoke, the legendary Daidarabotchi (+ its variants, such is its prevalence in lore) is perhaps the most immense, able to shape the very star. They are said to have created many sacred lakes and mountains, including Daitenzan.

Daidarabotchi era um gigantesco yōkai que até se passava por uma montanha quando dormia.
E o último chefão de RE7 em sua forma final tem praticamente o tamanho de uma montanha, sem falar na aparência, que lembra o que seria o Daidarabotchi.
RE7 foi um jogo inspirado, em muitos níveis! Amo tanto!

And yeah I STILL find the concepts and imagery of the rampaging Tatarigami and the unstoppable flood of the headless, death-spreading Daidarabotchi to be hair-raising in a way that touches something deeply atavistic inside me

Princess Mononoke is one of the most profoundly moving, life changing stories I’ve ever experienced. I’m almost shocked when I meet people who dismiss it and other Ghibli films as just forgettable cartoons without strong messages.
The Flanderization of ghibli in the public mind is just so insane to me. Acting like it’s entirely wholesome and cutesy but is really overtly anti capitalist, depict the horrors of war and environmental decline, and have TONS of body horror and depictions of death and disease. it legit annoys me
