Meant to post a bit more on these but I just pushed through them in batches. 10 Scarecrows finished, as well as my 3rd Adept. I have nearly defeated the bulk of my Mantic model backlog in one month 😤

Quite a busy month outside the minis world. Quite sure to have less and less painting done. But I try to keep time for that.

Ogre sculpts from several years ago.
I had a whole bunch of leftover Mantic arms, and decided to make my own bodies for them. They match the dimensions, and share some stylistic elements.

Now for my great Halloween trick! I have finished painting many Mantic models this month. 47 Zombies, 10 Zombie Dogs, and 10 Scarecrows. What does that add up to?
Mwahaha, Gottem, ggs all! Have a good night.

errrmm we are faster than Amazon.co.uk Warhammer.com and Mantic Games and not by a small margin. This could mean we have a bug or it could mean I just did something really significant. All Indications are it's the latter but we will deploy our entire test suite now and see if anything invalidates.

Ball thing is a fizzer from a draught Guinness can. Console base is an HDMI cable dust cover. Console screen broke off a Mantic cash till. Vents are toothbrush covers. Main 'plinth' is an old PC component cover.

mantic - note / the mantis insect got its name from this same source, because its posture, with forelimbs extended as in prayer, reminded folks of a prophet; also the source of the suffix -mancy, which means (divination in a specified manner) as in "necromancy" and "pyromancy"

Progress on my #HaloFlashpoint "Red Team" fireteam that I had started last week for the now over Mantic Games #HaloFastGrow event. SADLY, I didn't even finish one dude out of the four I intended. I even had the crazy idea to get 9 guys done, including Master Chief.

Post stream update, here is what I'm calling my first Red Team, painted for the #HaloFlashpoint Mantic Games #HaloFastGrow event. Tomorrow, I plan to start working on them earlier and pick out their undersuits, details, and weapons. If I have time, I might basecoat my blue team.

The boys! God I haven't painted a mini forever but this kit was like 50% off because it was one of those shitey old mantic doggy bags full of unsorted pvc bits so I thought dip my toe back in. May go back in for a few more highlights but fine for now.

Assuming no 3D printer, Woodland Scenic tree armatures are decent. For 35mm, I'd go with a variety in the 3"-6" range. If you're looking for a pre-made set that's fairly cheap, there's the Mantic tree set, which has 6 trees, 3 stumps, and some add-ons in PVC:

Forest Trees | 28-32mm Scale Terrain
The Fantasy Forest Terrain set contains 15 pieces including spooky trees and mushrooms, perfect for fantasy wargames like Kings of War.
