Murdoch's daily tele in Sydney, doing its very best to hamper any action on climate change. Different day, same old crap from the nepo-billionaire crowd.

Huge months for SBS and BBC, with both adding more than 800k users in January to take top10 spots at the expense of The Age and @nytimes.com. All NewsCorp properties in the Top20 lost audience, with newscomau -413k, The Australian -279k, SkyNewsOz -169k, Herald Sun -222k and DailyTele -377k

How can normal people see the Sky/DailyTele hosted debate tonight ffs?

Outside of Top10, CourierMail had a very big month with Cyclone Alfred coverage to rise from 19th to 13th. The West Australian & DailyTele return to Top20, while The Nightly drops out. A very big month of news with every listing in the Top20 (other than BBC) seeing month-on-month growth
April 24, 2025 at 1:05 AM
NIH weirdly reappears at 13th with a huge 810k readers added in Feb, but maybe the big news is The Nightly making their first ever appearance in the Top 20.

CourierMail are also back in Top20 for the first time since Oct last year, with DailyTele & Fox Sports dropping out

So, who 'won' election coverage? The Australian election was May 3rd, so wouldn't jump to say that this growth was ALL election, but it would have brought a big bump for all publishers. Well, all other than TheOz, DailyTele, Daily Mail & 7News, the only publishers in Top20 to lose audience in May

Michael Miller – who is responsible for The Australian, SkyNewsAustralia, news•com•au, DailyTele etc – has denied the Murdoch outlets are obsessed with the ABC, rejected the suggestion they're racist or bullying people, and blamed social media for many of society’s ills www.theguardian.com/...
News Corp aren’t ‘obsessed’ with the ABC, executive chairman says
Michael Miller, who is responsible for The Australian, Daily Telegraph, news.com.au and Sky News Australia, also blames social media for many of society’s ills

Further down, @aunz.theconversation.com and DailyTele have dropped out of the Top20, while Forbes reenters the list for the first time in a long time, and The Nightly also reenters at No20.

In April DailyTele was +1m readers to storm into 10th. It was a very big Sydney news month (Bondi Junction & church stabbings). DailyTele then lost -1.2m readers in May & dropped to 19th. SMH also lost -1m readers. Top10 publishers to gain audience in May were news•com•au, ABC, SBS and The Age.

In the Feb figures the DailyTele stormed into 12th spot from completely outside the top20. This month they're back down to 20th, as one of only 3 publishers in top20 to lose audience. Mind you, they added nearly 974k in Feb, so they're still 733k above where they were in January

DailyMail retake 4th spot, 7News back to 5th. Some wild changes in bottom half of table. CourierMail (+6 spots to 14th), SkyNewsOz and People (??) had massive growth. HeraldSun -3 spots, TheOz -5 spots. FoxSports were 15th in Nov & DailyTele 18th, but neither made the Dec top20 list
