The Spring Debugger from @intellijidea.com autodetects your datasources and registers them into the Database tool window. This is particularly helpful when testing with Testcontainers.
It gives you instant database inspection, no setup. Super handy. 🧐

Maybe the core software can run this way, but if you must sync your data to other datasources (external hotel booking sites, payment providers) you need to keep updating your software. Otherwise you pay some "Data entry" person to copy&paste csv files from one system to the other to keep it updated.

I've moved arewedecentralizedyet.online to new datasources, including actual monthly-active-user counts for the #atproto world. Using actual MAUs, there are a full 1% of active accounts now that are not on Bluesky PBC PDSes.

From an EM @ Grafana: it's still built by engineers for engineers, and that's been both a blessing & a curse; you can probably get exactly what you want (from all sorts of datasources) BUT it can be a time sink with a steep learning curve.
This is a space where AI really shines, luckily.

I think a huge chunk of the optionality we bought in our V2 architecture was abstracting all our datasources behind a Dataplane Go service that's a "choke point" for anything that talks to a database in our PoPs.
This makes is a super obvious place to add caches/filters and other data optimizations

I'm actually surprised this doesn't exist; a local-first dashboard/BI tool. Datasources are fetched via API and cached locally. Wasm sqlite/postgres would be perfect for this. Optional cloud backup

Agreed. We won't be downloading "apps" anymore. We'll be adding datasources for our Personal Agent to sync, or having our agent interact with agents from our friends/family/coworkers or even from third-party companies and orgs. All apps and UIs will be generated on the fly for the task at hand.

I was v confused by this price cut only for OpenRouter. this interpretation makes them look sneaky. however, if they have optimizations coming that they expect to enable a 50% price cut for everyone, then it's clever to make the cut early for a small portion of traffic

Apologies in advance if you've answered this question ad nauseum in the past (I'm a bit new to FPL twitter/bsky), but has there been efforts to backtest Ev predictions from these five datasources to see if some ought to be weighed more than others?

It's literally in these AI companies best interest to make sure there is no AI garbage in these large open datasources. You will never hear them say that though.
