I actually prefer this. Even when deeplinking is used half the time it's wrong with a high potential for loops.
I actually prefer to use websites and just link from my phone desktop. Fewer poorly written battery draining web website-in-an-app apps at the same time.

but deeplinking doesn’t work on ios right now, so the best i can do with them is load up the web app

Yeah, I got that too yesterday.
It didn't go away until I deleted the preview pic of the link I was posting, and just have the bare naked link instead.
I figured it was being caused by something on the link's end to prevent other sites from deeplinking to their images.

I feel like there's gotta be a way to get links to deeplink with Bluesky, it works fine with Twitter, almost to a fault.
I just hate how long these other apps are taking before integrating the deeplinking.

I dual wield both versions by running New #Outlook as an #Edge #PWA. It has some nice features (event duplication, email deeplinking, more than 3 time zones) but lacks others (can't edit events received from other people, can't save events as .ics file, can't save contacts as .csv file)
